Fortville – Learn the art of easy, countertop pickling in this one-hour class at Fishers AgriPark. Each participant will be given cucumber, pickling spices and a mason jar to make their own batch of pickles. Registration required.
St. Joe – The 27th annual pickle fest features plenty of food including a fish dinner, pancake and sausage breakfast, BBQ, fried pickles, pickle ice cream and more, plus music, craft, pickle-eating contest and pickle factory tours.
Schererville – St. George Greek Orthodox Church hosts Greek Fest featuring music, tours, dancing and food, including lamb, shish kabobs, gyros, Greek chicken, spanakopita, saganaki and loukoumades; drive-through available.
Oldenburg – German music, dancing, games, dachshund races and lots of food, including sausages and sauerkraut, schnitzel and world-famous sauerkraut balls; bier garten with German-style beers and wine.
